Scuba

Two tank dives are available daily for certified divers. For non-certified persons, Resort certification is available and can be arranged through the dive shop. Choose from 30 Dive sites for an interesting underwater adventure.

Our PAID international resort dive center offers a variety of courses and dives to suit everyone from beginner to advanced diver. Our equipment is the top of the line Sherwood equipment. We have a thirty-six foot covered dive boat that has been adapted to suit stride entry or back roll entry. We provide caddy service and will take your tanks to the boat and help you gear up aboard.

Opportunities for Certified Divers

If certified by PAID, SAC, or NO, you can go on any two of the three dives offered daily. On Saturdays there is a two tank dive. Negro has an exceptionally varied range of dive sites. The marine life is diverse and rich. We often see turtles, Nurse sharks, sting rays and a wide variety of tropical fish. We go to 35 different dive sites. These include:

Beginners Scuba Certification Course

The hotel resort certification course is a one day course. It is held at 8:45 am Mondays to Fridays. All equipment and instruction is included.

Academic session - 40 minute lecture. Pool session - 50 minutes - practical experience. Shallow dive - one and half hours including the boat trip.

After you have completed this course, you can go on the 11 am daily beginners' dives. These take place at a variety of dive sites and are suitable for entry level divers.

Sports Complex Facilities

Our ten acre premier sports and fitness complex includes 10 lighted tennis courts (five hard and five clay), two squash courts, two racquetball courts, basketball court, a fully equipped gym with the latest Cyber fitness equipment, lap pool, aerobics room with exerflex floor, equalize, yoga, step aerobics, out door jogging track, steam rooms, saunas and a Jacuzzi are available at no extra cost, with professional instructors. Couples Swept Away Negro has created a world class tennis facility that is unique in the Caribbean. United States Professional Tennis Registry (UPSET) voted us "Tennis Facility of the Year 1996".  Every October is Tennis Month at Couples Swept Away Negro with a program featuring renowned tennis pros. Three daily clinics (beginners, intermediate and advanced) and daily tournaments (with prizes) are hosted by our visiting tennis pros. In addition, there are three resident tennis pros who are available to play with you or give individual lessons. And at the end of the day our Matching and Ranking Program is designed to find a partner at your level

Golf at Couples Swept Away Negril

Couples Swept Away Negril offers unlimited golf at the Negril Hills Golf Club. This 18 hole course is just ten minutes from the resort. We take care of the transportation and green fees so you can concentrate on your game. The 120 acre par 72 course is challenging. The wind and the 6,600 yards of rolling hills come into play here. Facilities at Negril Hills include a club house, pro shop and driving range. Carts, clubs and caddies are available for an extra charge. Caddies are mandatory.

Glass Bottom Boat Ride: Only the fish will be gliding with more ease. Daily trips are scheduled. Other off-site excursions available.

What Should I Wear for Dining?

Sometimes our guests like to know if there are any dress requirements. During the evening hours as you dine in any of our restaurants (besides the casual Beach Grill), we request that you keep your sneakers, shorts, t-shirts and tank-tops in your room. Casual elegance is the fashion style at most of our restaurants. However, if you wish to dine at our fine gourmet restaurant, Feathers, we request a more elegant look. For men, slacks, collared shirts and closed shoes would be appropriate and for women, dresses, skirts or dress pants are fine.

"I Do" . . . and "We Do" everything to make a wedding at Couples Resorts picture perfect. Couples Resorts gives the bride and groom a very special wedding gift ... a free wedding ceremony with your minimum 5 night stay and Deluxe or higher room.

Certain documents are required, as is your presence on the property for two full business days before the ceremony. Please allow us to help you coordinate these requirements to ensure a flawless ceremony.

Payment (certified check or international money order) must be included together with required legal documents. Medical Facilities

The nurse is located at the Sports Complex and is available from 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Complimentary services are provided for minor first aid and illness. A medical doctor is available by appointment and is on call 24 hrs, if immediate medical attention is required. Medical fees are paid directly to the doctor, by the patient.
